Motorists in the Czech Republic who use the country’s highways are required to buy 10-day, monthly, or yearly vignettes and the big question every year for most car owners is whether the price for the yearly coupon will go up. Currently, it cost 1,500 crowns per year and the higher limit within the proposed bill was raised to 2,000 (around 100 US dollars).
The restoration of Prague’s Rašínovo nábřeží embankment along the Vltava River, originally meant to have started in the autumn last year, will begin in mid-April, the daily Mladá Fronta Dnes reported on Monday. The year 2017 was the most successful so far in Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker Škoda Auto’s history, CEO Bernhard Maier has confirmed for news site iDnes. According to the company head, the number of cars produced in 2017 was 6.6 percent higher than a year earlier, for a total of 1,200,500 vehicles manufactured.
