Czech javelin gold winner Barbora Špotáková expecting baby

Double Olympic javelin gold and two times world champion, Czech Barbora Špotáková has announced she is expecting a second child and will take a break from competition.

Špotáková, 36, says her second child is expected in the summer and she is likely to return to training in the autumn. She said she wants to continue and has already proved that parenthood and sport can be combined.

Špotáková says her mid-term goal is to take part in the 2020 Olympics being hosted by Tokyo. She won javelin Olympic golds in Beijing in 2008 and four years later in London. She took the bronze medal in the last Rio games.
