Government to subsidize renewable energy sources

The government has earmarked 11.7 billion crowns in support of renewable energy sources in 2012. The price of electricity for households should grow by 4.3 percent on average, while companies should pay some 6.2 percent more in electricity bills next year. Most of the subsidies will go to support photovoltaic plants. Their operation will cost over 22 billion crowns. The total cost of all renewable sources should reach 32 billion. Without state subsidies the price of electricity would increase by 11 percent for households and 15 percent for large buyers.
