Police treating accidental shooting as negligence resulting in GBH

A hunter accidentally shot a woman near Holešov in south Moravia at the weekend, the police said on Tuesday. The woman, who was coating trees in a wooded area to prevent animals from stripping their barks, was taken to hospital after being shot in the stomach. The police are treating the case as negligence resulting in grievous bodily harm, a charge that can carry a sentence of up to four years in prison.
