Prague councillors postpone debate over fate of Libeň bridge

Prague councillors on Thursday failed to take a decision on whether to approve the demolition of Libeň bridge, a 1928 construction with Cubist elements. Mayor Adriana Krnáčová ended the session early because the councillors couldn’t agree on its programme for the session.

Earlier this week, the city council’s executive committee decided to support the demolition of the historic bridge and build a new one in its place. The bridge is in a dangerous state and had to be closed to most traffic for seven weeks this year.
