President accepts labour and social affairs minister’s resignation

President Miloš Zeman on Wednesday accepted the resignation tendered by labour and social affairs minister Petr Krčál.

The newly appointed minister announced his resignation on Tuesday, only weeks after being appointed. The news came a day after reports that the Social Democrat politician had plagiarised a major part of his university thesis.

Mr. Krčál will be replaced by Jana Maláčová, a senior official at the Ministry of Labourand Social Affairs, who will be appointed to the post.
