Czech forwards Radek Bonk and Martin Erat shined on Thursday in their team’s match against the second-place San Jose Sharks. Their team, Nashville, was down 2-0 at the start of the 2nd period, but Erat and Bonk combined for two of three flash goals, which turned the game around in less than three minutes. Nashville went on to win the game by a score of 3-2. Nashville has now moved up to eighth place in the western division – with eight games remaining.

The ice-hockey club of Karlovy Vary is ready to take part in the
Kontinental Hockey League’s next season, the Russian daily Sports
reported on Saturday. Officials of the Karlovy Vary hockey club, a
participant of the Czech top hockey division, are reportedly scheduled for
a final round of talks with the KHL’s directorate in Moscow on
The Kontinental Hockey League was founded in 2008 with participants from Russia, Belarus, Latvia and Kazakhstan. Czech Republic’s Jaromír Jágr currently plays for KHL’s Avantgard Omsk.

New Jersey Devils’ forward Patrik Eliáš scored a goal and earned one
assist against Montreal on Saturday to help his team clinch a 3-1 win. The

Czech hockey forward Tomáš Plekanec is continuing to show good form,

Czech Tomáš Vokoun, of the Florida Panthers, was named the NHL’s second star of the week on Monday after notching up two shutouts. The goalie saved 118 shots in last week’s games against New Jersey, Chicago and Boston, lifting the Panthers to seventh place in the Eastern Conference chart. Tomáš Vokoun has recorded six shutouts this season.
