New Jersey Devils’ forward Patrik Eliáš scored a goal and earned one
assist against Montreal on Saturday to help his team clinch a 3-1 win. The
lone Canadiens’ goal came from Tomáš Plekanec – his 20th of the
season. The game was a special one for New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur:
was his 551st win in the National Hockey League, tying the record of
retired goaltending legend Patrick Roy.
In other action, Czech forward Micahel Frolík scored the opening goal for Florida against Tampa Bay, later adding an assist. Despite being down 3-1 at one point Tampa Bay managed to turn the game around, coming back to win 4-3 on penalties.

Czech hockey forward Tomáš Plekanec is continuing to show good form,
notching up one goal and one assist in the Montreal Canadiens 3:0 win on
Tuesday over the Vancouver Canucks. The forward has now racked up six
– and four assists - in six games.
In other action, Milan Hejduk scored twice for the Colorado Avalanche, defeated 4:3 by Atlanta. The Nashville Predators’ Martin Erat, meanwhile, earned three assists to help his team come from behind to win 5:3 over Chicago.
Czech Tomáš Vokoun, of the Florida Panthers, was named the NHL’s second star of the week on Monday after notching up two shutouts. The goalie saved 118 shots in last week’s games against New Jersey, Chicago and Boston, lifting the Panthers to seventh place in the Eastern Conference chart. Tomáš Vokoun has recorded six shutouts this season.
Hockey goalie Tomáš Vokoun, of the Florida Panthers, stopped 41 shots by
league leaders Boston on Saturday to lead his team to a 2:0 win. The game
was his third shutout over the last ten days. In the game he also assisted
on his team’s first goal.
In other action, the Canadien’s Roman Hamrlík earned two assists in Montreal’s 5:2 win over Ottawa. Czech forward Tomáš Plekanec, also of the Canadiens, scored the game’s opening goal.
